Personal verification, step by step

Learn what a provider may request to verify your identity and evaluate eligibility for a service.

1. Identify the provider

Before providing data, check the entity that provides the service, its privacy notice and the channel used. The specific requirements depend on the provider, the country and the requested function.

2. Review the requirements

Name, date of birth, residence and a current official document may be requested. It can also be verified that the person presenting it is its owner. Depending on the case, proof of address, account ownership, purpose of the operation and origin of resources may be required.

3. Use your own and current information

The data must match the documents. Follow the format and quality instructions; an incomplete image, a discrepancy, or an expired document may need clarification. Do not alter documents or use another person's identity.

4. Distinguish review and result

Submitting information is not equivalent to passing verification. The process may require additional review or result in rejection. An internal decision and the result communicated by an external provider are different.

5. Check the terms of service

Identification does not authorize any amount, country, method or recipient. There may be additional limits and checks, and requirements may be updated.

6. Protect your data

The contact forms are for general inquiries. Do not include IDs, passwords, PINs, authentication codes, private keys, or recovery phrases.
