Policies

Stablecoins and digital assets

Risks that should be understood when evaluating services related to stablecoins and other digital assets.

Value and issuer

A stablecoin seeks to follow a reference value, but it can lose that parity. Reserves, stabilization mechanisms, the issuer's situation and exchange conditions influence the risk.

Liquidity and costs

The price of an on-ramp or off-ramp route may vary with liquidity, the market and commissions. A reference price does not guarantee that a transaction for that amount can be executed.

Networks and transfers

The asset and network must match those supported by the recipient. Transactions may be irreversible; A wrong address or an incompatible network can cause losses.

Custody and restrictions

The conditions of a wallet or provider may include access controls, suspensions, reviews or restrictions. There are technical, operational, custody and protocol risks.

Information to decide

Review the characteristics of the asset, the provider's terms, the destination and all costs. The denomination of an asset does not make it a guaranteed bank deposit or eliminate the risk of loss.
